James Fowler is scheduled to appear on the Colbert Report tonight to talk about his new book Connected. I know he has been on the show before. What other political scientists have cracked the late night shows? I know Bruce Bueno de Mesquita made an appearance on the Daily Show where Fareed Zakaria is also a frequent guest. Who else? And were they funny? (An impossible task, I know. The only person I have seen who tried to be funnier than Jon Stewart and succeeded was Brian Williams.)
