We invite political scientists interested in writing for a broad audience to apply to be part of the second cohort of Good Authority non-residential fellows. Selected fellows will draw on insights from research – theirs and that of other political scientists – as it relates to timely events and evergreen political and policy issues.
About the fellowship
Term: March 2026 through February 2027
Stipend: $2,500
Good Authority fellows will receive training and mentorship in public engagement, especially in writing blog posts about political science research in ways that are accessible and engaging to a broader audience. Fellows will be expected to produce content monthly, roughly equivalent to 12 blog posts during the fellowship period. Other forms of content (e.g., podcast, video) are encouraged but not required. Meet our 2025-2026 fellows!
Eligibility and selection
Applicants should have a PhD in political science, though Good Authority will also consider advanced PhD students who are nearing completion of their dissertations. Priority will be given to early-career scholars, scholars from equity-seeking groups, and scholars whose research expertise expands the range of coverage on Good Authority. Previous experience in collaborative efforts strongly preferred.
How to apply
The Good Authority Fellowship application is a Google Form accessible via this link and also embedded below. Applications will require that you provide a link to your CV.
