What does it mean to alarm Egypt? And how does this differ from alarming Egyptians? I suppose that “Egypt,” in this context, refes to some sort of Egyptian establishment.
Perhaps the London papers had similarly unselfconscious headlines in 1776: “Colonials’ Turn to Democracy Alarms America.”
