Name Those Candidates

- June 5, 2009

Candidate A says that his opponent has a foreign policy based on illusions.

Candidate B says that he is besieged by a corrupt array of interests, including his opponent.

Candidate A says that his opponent’s foreign policy is also adventurist and extreme. And did he mention superficial?

Candidate B says the opponent’s ideas betray the country’s historical values.

Candidate A says the opponent is stifling dissent and moving the country toward dictatorship.

Candidate B says that the opponent’s lifestyle is lavish. And his wife may have lied about something.

Who are they?

Mir Hossein Mousavi (A) and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (B).

Truly, campaign rhetoric is the same everywhere. Here’s the story.
