A while back, I “mentioned”:https://themonkeycage.org/2010/06/potpourri_5.html this unusual “challenge”:http://phdchallenge.org/call-for-participation:
bq. The goal of this year’s challenge is to get the phrase “I SMOKE CRACK ROCKS” into the final, camera-ready version of a peer-reviewed academic paper…The target phrase must appear contiguously in the text and must be visible by the human eye. The paper must be at least three pages and published in proceedings or journal of an English-speaking academic organization.
And we have a winner, “Gabriel Parent”:http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~gparent/ of Carnegie Mellon. The announcement is “here”:http://phdchallenge.org/2010-phd-challenge-winner and the winning paper is “here”:http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~gparent/papers/amt-transcript.pdf (pdf).
