I would be interested to see what “Cosma Shalizi”:http://arxiv.org/abs/1004.4704 has to say about e.g. Betsy Sinclair’s and James Fowler’s contributions on separating out causal effects from homophily. Heaney’s own contribution – on the problems of inferring network structure from survey data – is very useful.
